What goes in, and why

Three recipes, each built the same way: one quality protein, then fruit, vegetables or herbs chosen to supply what the meat cannot, and vitamin E as our natural preservative, an antioxidant that keeps the oils fresh.

• Chicken Breast Bark. Lean protein, carrot for beta-carotene, parsley for vitamins and breath.
• Beef Lung Bark. Iron and B vitamins from organ meat, with beetroot and ginger.
• Kangaroo Bars. Very lean red meat with pumpkin, mint, parsley, fennel seed and coconut oil. A gentle chew that's soft on teeth.

A lean everyday protein, a nutrient-dense organ meat and a gentle chew. Three quite different proteins and textures, which is the simplest way to learn what your dog prefers.

How to serve

Break the barks into smaller pieces, and serve the bars whole or snapped in two. Use them for training and rewards, or scatter over a meal. Keep treats to no more than 10% of your dog's daily intake, and always leave fresh water out.
